The engineering consulting firm NAVIS ehf is active mainly in the fields of naval architecture and marine engineering and offers service to shipyards, shipowners, fish processing factories and related fields of activities. Their staff members all have vast experience in their respective specialities and have, through their work, earned extensive knowledge and professional acclaim both locally and internationally.
Employees of NAVIS have been in charge of the design of various kinds of newbuildings, such as stern trawlers, purse seiners /pelagic trawlers, fish factory vessels, line and drift netters, handliners, tugs, ferries, survey- and research vessels. They have furthermore, on behalf of owners, supervised numerous major modifications and repairs of existing vessels, designs and renewals of fish factory lines and taken part in various other projects and surveys each in their particular subjects.

NAVIS ehf in its present form came to being in the beginning of year 2004 when the offices of NAVIS ehf and Fengur ehf joined forces. Both engineering consulting companies rested in fact solidly on already well established foundations, so to speak, as Fengur ehf had been active in this field for more than two decades and NAVIS ehf was started early in 2003 by a few previous members of Skipatækni hf, most of whom had been employed by that company for a great number of years.
The company enjoys the services of a number of very able professionals, each one a specialist in his own field and together they form a very strong front in the field of marine surveying, shipping, fisheries and shipbuilding.
